The biggest decission you make with regards to the senior market is when you turn age 65.  This is your Medicare “open enrollment” period, Which means you can choose any Medicare carrier without having to answer medical underwriting questions. You have only one open enrollment period. Making an informed choice during your open enrollment can possiblly save you hundreds of dollars each year. We can explain your options and the consequences of each depending on your specific circumstances.

What are the different parts to Medicare:

- Part A (hospital insurance) (Medigap and Medicare Supplement insurance fills the gaps)helps pay for inpatient hospital care, skilled nursing care, hospice care and home health care.

- Part B (medical insurance) (Medigap and Medicare Supplement insurance) helps pay for doctors fees, outpatient hospital visits, some preventive care and durable medical equipment.

- Part C (Medicare Advantage) is an alternative coverage option to Original Medicare that allows you to choose to receive all of your health care services and prescription drug coverage through one plan. Medicare Advantage plans include Part A and Part B covered services, and often includes Part D (prescription drug coverage).

- Part D helps cover the cost of outpatient prescription drugs.
